For many years after my Dad\u2019s passing I felt like I really should do something to honour his memory. I would try going on hikes that we once trekked, or attending events that we had once visited, but nothing ever felt right. So in early 2020 after a conversation with friends and family I decided to honour him through fundraising for a charitable organization that had been of support to him during his struggles and so was the first SRUK (Scleroderma and Raynaud's) fundraiser was born.

This was before the YouTube and social media accounts, even before Twitch, but would be a contributing factor into Mrs A's and my journey into streaming. And, barring one year when we decided instead to support aid for Ukraine, we have tried our best to keep to this tradition. See, my Dad was the one who introduced me to table top wargaming. He taught me many of the painting techniques that I still use to this day and every time I paint I feel connected to him in my own way. Painting miniatures went from this little thing to a whole hobby in the blink of an eye. My Dad and I would spend hours building armies, playing games and painting into the wee hours of the morning. All the while his condition took it's toil on him, but we got help through SRUK. With hints and tricks we were able to paint together for longer. Until finally, one day, he couldn't paint any more. His interest in the hobby never faded and he continued to encourage me to new try techniques (something I let slip after his passing), attend events, even without him and push myself to do better with every project.

Over the years, either by myself or alongside Mrs A, we have painted all manner of miniatures to help raise money for SRUK. Including, my very first random assortment of miniatures, to Flesh Tearer Space Marines (my first 40k army), Dwarves and Sylvaneth and soon (March 2025) Bretonnians, which was my Dad\u2019s first army. In total we have raised over \u00a33500 over the years for SRUK.<\/span><\/p>

My fondest memories of him are the late night painting sessions we did together.
